The Move Abroad Coach Podcast
#64 No You DON'T Have to Hate the US to Move Abroad
Let's clear up a big misconception—not everyone who moves abroad hates their home country. You can absolutely love your country, be frustrated by it, and still want to fix the things you don’t like. And guess what? You can do all that while living overseas.
In this episode, we’ll explore the concept of running towards something you desire, instead of just running away from what you don’t. It’s all about focusing on what you want in life and designing your dream lifestyle abroad. Plus, I’ll address that common line, "If you don’t like it, leave," and explain why critiquing your country is actually a form of patriotism and a push for change.
Living abroad doesn’t mean abandoning your roots. You can still be politically active and advocate for change from anywhere in the world. We'll also touch on the privileges and opportunities that come with being from the US, and how these can coexist with your desire to experience life abroad.
Tune in to hear more about how you can love your home country, live abroad, and advocate for change all at the same time. Let’s get into it!
